Scholarships of up to $500 are being offered to encourage and support individuals pursuing additional education in the field of lactation. Items to be funded may be but are not limited to, conferences, clinic hour experiences, online programs, books, and related expenses. Black, indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) are underrepresented among International Board Certified Lactation Consultants in the United States. WPLCA acknowledges that diversity elevates and enriches the field of lactation and has the power to improve patient care and positively impact parent, child, and family health outcomes. Therefore, candidates of diverse racial, ethnic, socio-economic, and cultural backgrounds will be given priority for the scholarship(s). Applicants must be members of WPLCA.
